They LIED to me….
As an aspiring artist, I strive to achieve excellence using affordable products and materials. When I bought this “Crayola Washable Paint” in white, I was shocked to see that it states “Smooth-flowing formula won’t crack or flake when dry” as washable paints aren’t usually the best quality for more advanced pieces of art. Once I got back to my art room, I started painting a mural on my wall and went to paint with this white color. Imagine my disappointment when i find the first coat of this so-called “smooth, non-cracking, non-flaky” paint streaky and non opaque and not even the worst had came. I was HORRIFIED when my painting was cracking and flaking chunks off where the white parts were, so I kept painting, and painting, and painting, and painting until i got to my fourth coat of crayola washable paint to find it STILL cracking and flaking. I had just wasted about 3 days of work just because of this paint. Mind you I had a deadline for this piece of art. I ended up using the last of my old acrylic paint which did the trick just fine. I am very unhappy with this product and will not be repurchasing. You have been warned.

Does this paint (in any color) have latex?
Denny has the details! While the exact ingredients of our products are proprietary, at this time, latex is NOT FOUND in products currently manufactured by Crayola. However, It is possible that latex gloves may have been worn during the manufacture and distribution of raw materials, components or finished goods. This does not apply to licensed products, such as Crayola-brand bath, personal care, or food items, which are manufactured by licensing partners. Please check the back of the packaging for manufacturer details or contact us with any questions at 1-800-CRAYOLA. Hope this helps!

Is the Crayola Washable Paint the same as the Crayola premier tempura paint?
Denny loves colorful questions! While there are some similarities between Crayola Washable Paint and Crayola Premier Tempura Paint, they aren't exactly equal. Our Washable Paints are water-based, not permanent, translucent, and ideal for younger children because they are washable from skin and most washable clothing. Our Premier Tempera Paints are water-based, not washable, high in coverage and opacity, crack and flake-resistant, and mix well to create secondary colors. Happy painting!

if we use washable paint will it wash off if pumpkins are exposed to weather?
Denny has a few tricks and treats up his sleeve! When creating masterpieces with Crayola products, including those on pumpkin canvases, my pack suggests displaying them indoors. Exposure to water and moisture will cause the paint to run. Happy Halloween!

I can a few 2 fl oz bottles of Washable Paint (Peinture Lavable). Is this basically the same as acrylic paint?
Denny to the rescue! This Washable Paint is designed to wash from most launderable clothing and skin, while still providing vibrant pigments. For more permanency, an acrylic-based paint like Crayola Acrylic Paints are recommended. If my pals on the Colorful Care Team can further assist you, please contact them at 1-800-CRAYOLA. Hope this helps!

What is the difference between washable tempera and washable paint?
Wonderful question! While both types of paints are water-based, Crayola Tempera Paints are generally used by older children. They are an excellent choice for teaching/learning to mix and blend colors.
Crayola Washable Paints are typically used by younger children because of their washability. They are neither permanent nor lightfast. Hope this helps!
