Good concept, but fails in the end
I saw these in the store and thought this would be a great way for my 6-yr old kiddo to create glitter-filled projects without the mess..on her own. That was a major selling point for me. These dots were easy to smush but I think the "glue" that makes them stick to the surface one is working with was the problem. After 45 minutes and several attempts to get them to "stick" - even flattening them super thin - kiddo was frustrated (as was I) and decided to go do something else. The product says it will stick to wood, but it did not. Based on another review it looks like it doesn't do better on paper either. Good concept, but a product fail in my opinion.

My toddler loves these!
I purchased these after I received a a sample at Walmart. My two year old daughter used them with ease. She was able to squish them and I assisted her with spreading the color around. They are easy for her to pick up and not difficult to squish at all.

Needs improvement
While the dots were easy to squish but hard to shape they ALL NEEDED TO BE GLUED to stay in place. Not rhe best product Crayola has made. WILL NOT PURCHASE AGAIN, waste of money and substantially below expectations.

Unique consept
This was not at all what I thought it was.....when you tell a child they need to squish each of the dots to get the color out that's just not right, and it's messy too. My 19th year old granddaughter could navigate the dots pretty well but it certainly isn't good for my 6 year old

Complete waste of money.
I've got a 4 year old who LOVES doing crafty things. We saw these at the store, and figured for $5, it wouldn't be a terrible test investment. Less mess, hooray! Crayola generally knows what they're doing, so we'll give it a shot.
Do not. Just don't. They're useless, except for a few minutes of squishy fun.
The most disappointing thing was that the dots DON'T STICK TO ANYTHING. We thought those plastic light catchers would be great, as they have reservoirs to squish the glitter into. Nope. The stuff popped right out. Doesn't stick to wood or paper, or even anything semi porous. (This also meant it didn't stick to the carpet, BUT it left bits of glitter in.
The dots squish nicely, and the product certainly delivers on "less" mess where glitter is concerned. But less mess does not mean NO mess. As soon as the glue (which smells exactly like Elmer's) dries, the glitter goes wild. It's not EVERYWHERE the way dry glitter does, but you're still going to have cleanup.
I just can't think of a good purpose for these. Sorry, Crayola. This was a neat idea, but it's a no from me.

Fun New Art Supplies
We got a sample of glitter dots to try and my little kids loved them. They were easy to use and worked well. We still got a little glitter on our fingers, but much better than just using glitter and glue.

Still messy and don’t stick
I bought some glitter dots for my kiddos to decorate their cardboard trees with. They ended up not sticking and ended up being a huge mess as I had to spread it super thin to make any stick and then I ended up with glitter all over my hands. I could see them working better pushing into a mold but don’t expect them to stick to paper or cardboard.

4yr old loves them
I’ve been looking for ages for these. Found some yesterday. My 4yr old son loves them. He is having so mush fun using them and learning how to mix colors and such. While not mess free, WAY less messy then glitter!!
The cons are they require an adult to take them out of the packaging (they do not pop out easily!) and heaven for it the backing rip before you get it all off. Also, can’t seem to find just the dot sets anywhere except this site.

Hello, I wanted to know before I allow my children to play with this product.. does this Glitter Dots stain the skin or do my children need to wear gloves..... you carton does not state this information. Please help
No need to be blue! While Glitter Dots do contain colorants which may stain, they wash easily from most surfaces. Gloves should not be needed for this craft, but we do suggest protecting creative surfaces just in case any colorful accidents happen. If you should need further assistance, my Colorful Care Team is always here to help at 1-800-CRAYOLA!
