Great crayon substitute
My daughter is only 2, but we've found that these colored pencils are better for her than crayons. No matter what we did, she tried to eat the crayons, even under supervision. Crayons also break more easily when stepped on by little excited baby feet. We don't have any of these problems with the Pip Squeaks, and they are short and fat - easy for her to hold. She loves to color with them! They are a little more expensive, though, because they come in a set with a sharpener. That's the only problem for me.
